This slouchy tam in three sizes (S/M/L) has texture and a sassy tilt inspired by shell structures. The knitting fun starts with an asymmetrical garter stitch brim shaped in short rows, then moves on to a welting pattern worked in knit and purl which brings to mind the shifting sands at water’s edge. The design is compatible with solids as well as softly shaded self-striping or gradient yarn and variegated yarns with longer color runs.
